Does professional certification matter?

I say Yes!  Here’s why
Top performers, no matter the field, continually sieze opportunities to build their skills and enhance their professionalism.  In my work, Certified Fund Raising Executive is the standard of excellence.  I first invested the time, effort, and money to achieve the CFRE designation in 1999.

CFRE International grants the credential to over 5,500 development professionals worldwide who meet the organization’s rigorous standards.  Jim Caldarola, Past Chair of CFRE International, explains, “The CFRE credential was created to identify those individuals who possess the knowledge, skills and commitment to perform fundraising duties in an effective and ethical manner.”

I’m proud to be part of such a select group!

Recertification is required every 3 years and I’m happy to announce that I just satisfied the requirements!

If you are serious about fundraising, check out these Top 10 Reasons to Become CFRE Certified.

I’ve had the pleasure of teaching the CFRE study course several times and will do it again next month for the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Eastern Oklahoma Chapter.  Click here if you’d like more information.  And, if you have any questions about the process or what to expect, please call.  I’ll be happy to assist.  (It can be a little confusing.)

In the meantime, I’d love to hear your thoughts about professional certification.  How are you developing your skills and advancing your profession?

Your friend,

PS:  You’ll be happy to know The Asking Academy is CFRE approved for 22 credits!  Would this training be right for you and your team?
